Health, allied health and community care
Your roster can't wait for HR to catch up.
You can't stand a shift down while you work out what the award says.
We're the HR partner for health, allied health and care providers on the Sunshine Coast and across Queensland. Recruitment, HR advisory, leadership and coaching, from people who understand what SCHADS actually means on a Tuesday morning.

What we hear from care providers
Pay compliance has to be right, not roughly right.
Classifications, allowances, broken shifts, sleepovers and annual wage rises. Get it wrong and the exposure is retrospective, and it compounds quietly until someone asks a question.
Your workforce is rarely in the same room.
Support workers are in clients' homes, not in your office. Culture is hard to read, small problems stay invisible until they aren't, and the usual ways of finding out how people are going don't reach.
You're competing for the same people as everyone else.
Every provider in the region is hiring from the same pool. Values fit isn't a nice-to-have in care work, it's the job, and a bad hire reaches your clients directly.
When something serious happens, you need someone impartial.
A complaint or an allegation needs a person with experience who isn't three desks away from everyone involved. Doing it internally is often the wrong call, and doing it badly is worse than not doing it.
Growth exposes what was running on memory.
Position descriptions that don't match the job. A performance conversation nobody has had. A handbook written for a team half the current size.
Every new starter brings a stack of checks.
Police checks, NDIS worker screening, Working with Vulnerable People cards, professional registration renewals. Miss one and you've got someone rostered on who legally shouldn't be there yet.
If two or three of those landed, you're in the right place.
How we help
Recruitment
Support workers, coordinators, clinicians and leadership roles. One flat fee per placement, not a percentage of salary, and advertising at cost. We screen for values fit as hard as we screen for capability, because in care work they're the same thing.
HR advisory
Award and classification advice, contracts, policies and handbooks, performance and conduct matters, independent investigations, and the day to day questions you'd rather ask someone than guess at. Available as an ongoing partnership or a one-off piece of work.
Leadership & Coaching
Coordinators and team leaders promoted out of frontline care usually get the title before they get the skills. We build that capability, and we measure culture properly so the work goes where it's actually needed.
Most providers come to us for one of the three and end up using all three. You don't need to work out which one you need before you call.
Maroochy Home Assist: what an embedded HR partnership actually looks like
Home and community care provider. Dispersed workforce covered by the SCHADS Award. Our client since 2024.
"There was a lot of change for our team to navigate, and Bonnie and happy humans led us through it with steady, expert guidance and genuine care."
— Julie Stacey, General Manager, Maroochy Home Assist
We measured the culture instead of guessing at it.
A full workforce engagement survey reached a team that's rarely in one place. 91% were proud to work at Maroochy Home Assist. 90% were inspired by the organisation's purpose. 98% rated their work-life balance as good or better. It also showed exactly where the gaps were: feedback, role clarity, and communication from leadership.
The findings became a plan, not a report.
Four priorities came straight out of the data: a leadership programme, a performance development framework, new position descriptions to fix the role clarity gap, and an employee assistance provider chosen against what the team said they'd actually use, rather than whichever one was cheapest.
Then we delivered it.
Leadership coaching and workshops shaped by the survey findings. Position descriptions linked to a capability matrix and to performance reviews. SCHADS compliance maintained through wage rises and classification changes. Contracts, policies and an employee handbook. Recruitment across numerous roles as the organisation grew.
That's the shape of it. Find out what's true, agree what matters most, then do the work. Two years in and we're still their HR team.

A classification or roster question, an allegation that needs an impartial process, a screening gap, or a role that has already been advertised without a suitable shortlist. We’ll help solve the immediate issue properly.
A steadier workforce over time
Often becomes ongoing supportOngoing support with award compliance, recruitment, manager capability and culture, so small workforce issues are dealt with before they affect care.
